FIRE INCIDENT AT PHUTHADITJHABA INDUSTRIAL PARK, NO
INJURIES REPORTED
The Free State Development Corporation (FDC) confirms that a fire broke out
at the Phuthaditjhaba Industrial Park on Thursday, 18th July 2024. The incident
occurred at approximately 14:00pm and involved a portion of the furniture
factory, which was almost destroyed.
FDC’s property management teams, along with the District Manager, responded
swiftly to the scene. According to Tefo Matla, "At around 14:00pm, a dense
column of black smoke was spotted in the industrial area, and at the same
time, FDC received information from security in the park about a fire outbreak
at one of FDC’s industrial properties. FDC personnel and the District Manager
rushed to the scene while requesting emergency fire services to attend to the
reported matter.
